Care in Action: CuraKidney’s Impactful World Kidney Day 2026 Celebration
World Kidney Day 2026 marked a meaningful milestone, bringing together patients, partners, and the community in a shared mission: to prioritize kidney health through awareness, early detection, and better access to care.
At the heart of the celebration was the Care for Kidneys Free Screening Event, held at Ayala Malls Feliz, Pasig City, from March 12 to 14, 2026. The turnout was inspiring, with nearly 300 individuals participating—not just for routine checks, but as a proactive step toward protecting their health. Each participant served as a powerful reminder that awareness is the first line of defense against kidney disease.
The event offered a range of essential free screening services designed to detect early warning signs. These included blood pressure checks, blood glucose testing, and urinalysis—simple yet critical tools in identifying potential kidney issues before they progress. Participants also had access to free and discounted nephrology consultations, allowing them to better understand their results and receive guidance from specialists.
Beyond the numbers, what truly stood out was the atmosphere. There was a strong sense of reassurance, education, and genuine care in every interaction. For many attendees, it was their first time undergoing such screenings, making the experience even more meaningful. Each test and consultation became a step toward prevention, empowering individuals to take control of their kidney health earlier rather than later.
This initiative would not have been possible without the support of valued partners such as Ayala Malls Feliz, Wellness Pro, and BeHealthy. Their collaboration helped create an accessible and welcoming space where healthcare could reach more people in the community.
The celebration extended beyond the event and into patient care. As part of the World Kidney Day initiative, patients were given a special benefit from March 16 to 21, during which all treatments included the use of super high-flux dialyzers at no additional cost.
Super high-flux dialyzers are an advanced type of dialysis filter designed to more effectively remove larger toxins from the blood. This results in improved clearance, better treatment quality, and potentially enhanced patient comfort. By offering this upgrade, CuraKidney aimed to give patients firsthand experience of a higher standard of dialysis care—one that supports better long-term outcomes and improved quality of life.
“This World Kidney Day, we brought that commitment to the community through free mall screenings that encourage early detection and a more proactive, protective approach to kidney health, along with the introduction of free super high-flux dialysis for our patients,” shared Dr. Jason Medina, Medical Director. “Every patient deserves access to better outcomes and a better quality of life.”
As CuraKidney continues to grow, so does its commitment to serving more patients with the same level of care and compassion. The center is currently expanding its services and opening a fourth dialysis shift to accommodate more patients and provide greater flexibility in treatment schedules—ensuring that quality kidney care remains accessible to those who need it most.
World Kidney Day 2026 was more than a one-day event—it was a reflection of CuraKidney’s mission in action. From community screenings to enhanced patient care, every effort was rooted in the belief that kidney health should be accessible, proactive, and patient-centered.
